Valley Friends is our befriending ministry, aimed at reaching isolated people over 65 living in the villages of Balerno, Currie and Juniper Green. It is borne out of a desire to counteract the growing problem of loneliness, made worse by the Covid 19 pandemic, and build bridges within our increasingly fragmented society.

The project promotes regular social contact between the client and a trained volunteer, allowing a safe, fulfilling relationship to be built. We recruit befrienders from across the community who have a genuine desire to make a difference in this way.
