Giving at St Mungo’s
We rely on financial gifts to support all our ministries and the work of our UK & World Mission partners. Thank you for supporting us in this way.
There are many different ways that you can give generously to the mission and work of St Mungo’s Church.

GIVE SHARES
In order to make your gift as tax efficient as possible, use this link to give via our Stewardship Account, which allows UK Taxpayers to add ‘Gift Aid’ to your donation. This button will open a pop-up taking you to the correct page.
St Mungo’s accepts gifts of shares and this can be a tax efficient method of giving, and you can find out more information about this on the government website here.
St Mungo’s do not hold gifted shares, or add them our portfolio. Instead, we sell them immediately.
For details of how to give this way, please contact Katherine.Burnett@stmungos.org
GIVE A LEGACY
Members of our congregation sometimes like to leave a gift in their will for St Mungo’s Church, which has helped us to fund many exciting projects over the years.
In many cases, you can reduce inheritance tax on your estate and increase the amount available for your loved ones by leaving a gift to a charitable organisation such as St Mungo’s Church. For more information on the tax relief you can receive when leaving a charitable gift in your will, visit the government’s site here.

Why give to St Mungo's?
Why give to St Mungo's?
We want to be a community of Christians who give generously of our time, abilities and our money. We can give generously because we believe that all we have belongs to God. We therefore encourage each other to give:
Generously & Sacrificially
We should pray and ask the Holy Spirit to tell us what we should give. The New Testament doesn’t give us a specific amount, but it does tell us to seek first God’s Kingdom and encourages us to be generous with the resources we have.
To the church
We believe the Bible teaches that the majority of this tithe should go to the local church and Christian causes, with giving to secular charities on top of this. We give 15-20% of our total income away to support the worldwide church in mission and caring for the poor, in addition to our contribution to the Scottish Episcopal Church..
Regularly
Many choose to give monthly which really helps us to budget. A standing order form is available on request.
Joyfully
We give not out of duty but joyfully and as an act of worship in response to His grace.
Wisely
This means giving tax efficiently. If we are tax payers, completing a gift aid declaration enables the church to reclaim the tax paid on the money we give, which increases the value of our giving by 25%.
In 2025 we did a 5 week teaching series looking at the spiritual practice of generosity and you can listen to all those talks here:
1. There Is More Joy in Giving Than Receiving
Speaker: Ollie Clegg
Jesus’ teaching on money and possessions sounds absurd or even reckless to our modern ears. Yet financial generosity is a pathway to happiness, and displays trust in a generous, happy God.
2. Watch Out For Greed!
Speaker: David Lyons
Jesus understood that greed makes us anxious, distracted, discontent, and lonely. But generosity opens us to the beauty of contentment.
3. All We Have Belongs To God
Speaker: Katherine Burnett
In the biblical paradigm of stewardship, God owns everything, we are entrusted with his resources to do good, and he blesses us so we can give more.
4. Be Generous To The Poor
Speaker: Tara Devlin
Concern for the poor holds a prominent place in God’s heart. Apprentices of Jesus reflect this priority by coming alongside those in need, creating a new kind of family.
5. Best Practices
Speaker: Ollie Clegg
A generous life will require a plan. This episode explores five best practices to live out Jesus’ vision of the generous life.
