We have given a donation of £5,000 to Comfort International in support of their partner Comfort Congo who are in the middle of the aftermath of the recent volcano eruption near the city of Goma, Congo.
Since the eruption on Saturday 22 May, Comfort Congo have been supporting local projects (schools; rescue project and hospital) in the area as they navigate challenging circumstances for many people who have had to evacuate the area and leave their homes; loss of life; contaminated water with clean water in short supply. Basic needs, the things we take for granted and have in abundance, are in short supply.
You can read more here of how the mass evacuation is affecting the rest of the country. Personal stories can be watched here.
Please do continue to pray for the Comfort International team and Comfort Congo as they raise funds to support those in desperate need and for wisdom for when they need to make decisions about how to support local projects.
