P5-7 weekend Away@ Scoughall, East Lothian
Picture the scene:
An unknown venue with an unpronounceable name.
Monson rains.
More than thirty kids, most of whom have NEVER been away from home, several of whom are understandably anxious (as are the parents)
Team who haven’t done this for three years…
Now, have a look at the reality.
Scoughall beach and campsite (pronounced ‘skole’ and run by SU Scotland)
Glorious sunshine
Thirty happy smiley children, chatting and laughing their way through the weekend making new friends, trying new things, overcoming fears and praising our amazing God!
Zipline, Assault course, tunnel network, beach volcanoes, archery and archery tag, crafts, neukemball, bouncy castle, pool, table football, table tennis, quizzes, bonfire, nightline, talent show.
Song writing, visual art-worship, music workshop, sung worship, testimonies, small group discussion times, up-front teaching.
Sticky toffee pudding, sausages, fruit, tea, pancakes and enough home baking to run a café
An amazing team of VOLUNTEERS most of whom went straight back to work on Monday
And the discovery for these children that God made them, loves them, hears them and has plans for them.
THANK YOU to those of you who entrusted your children to our care.
THANK YOU to those of you who gave a up a weekend to take part.
THANK YOU to those of you who prayed for us before and during the event.
Our God really is amazing.
We’ve booked to do it all again next year.
