Since my appointment as Rector in March 2021, we have added a number of staff to the team which has enabled us to continue to serve the church and run and develop a number of our ministries. One of the positions we have been seeking to fill in the last year has been the role of Associate Rector whose main focus would be Livingston and I’m excited to announce that we have appointed Rev'd Isaac Knight to this position.
The interview process has been undertaken over the last couple of months with Isaac coming to Scotland on 2 occasions to meet with a variety of people as part of the interview including time with the Bishop John. Isaac is currently Curate of Christ Church Flackwell Heath in High Wycombe, with his curacy finishing in June and we are hopeful that he will begin his role at St Mungo’s around mid-August.
Isaac is from Oakham, East Midlands; he went to Durham University where he studied Sport and latterly Theology Ministry & Mission.
Isaac commenced his curacy in June 2019 and has been involved in service leading and preaching, and included leading the Church online services during Covid. He has also developed outreach and evangelism and the mentoring of lay leaders, and has worked closely with their Youth and Schools ministry and with community leaders.
Isaac is married to Ruth, who is from Linlithgow and her parents still live there.
We believe Isaac will be a great addition to the senior team and staff team and aligned with our vision and values.
We hope to invite Isaac & Ruth back up to Scotland before the summer to introduce them to the Livingston congregation and to meet the staff team and Vestry. Please do be praying for them both at this time as Isaac finishes his curacy; for good endings for Isaac & Ruth and for their move to Scotland that they will find a house quickly.
Thank you for your continued prayer support and faithfulness as we have sought to fill this role over the last year.
