After 30+ years being part of St Mungo’s Church, we said farewell to Colin & Lesley Penny last month. As part of our Balerno service at Heriot Watt University, Lesley was presented with a couple of gifts by the Rector’s Warden [photos of the gifts below] in recognition of all that both Colin & Lesley have sown into St Mungo’s. With Colin having been on tech team for 25+ years; both serving as house group leaders; Lesley being one of the early pioneers of the Women’s Ministry; leading worship and Worship Director for a period and latterly one of the Teaching Associate team, bringing God’s word to St Mungo’s in a powerful way.

On Sunday 26 September, Lesley was ordained to the Diaconate in St Mary’s Cathedral; photos below. This was an afternoon of celebration with family and friends.

We are truly grateful for what they have both brought to so many in St Mungo’s; for their faith, leadership, dedication and commitment. We bless them both and Kirsty & Isla, as Lesley moves to her new role as Curate at St Cuthbert’s, Colinton on Sunday 10 October to continue to preach the word and share Jesus in that community and to make a significant impact for the Kingdom.
