The weather might have been damp and grey but, once again, our Family Fun Day was full of life, laughter and colour! The rain stopped long enough to allow all outdoor activities to happen and there was plenty of time for grown-ups to chat while the children bounced, played, crafted and ran around. A steady stream of visitors popped into our Spirit Café marquee for a peace treatment or spiritual reading – 18 people received treatments and 4 responded to the Gospel. It was amazing to see how hungry people were spiritually.

A huge thank you to over 100 people from our Mungo’s family who baked, prepped, prayed, served and chatted. It was a tremendous team effort!

Families from Balerno and beyond are so grateful to St Mungo’s for putting on a fun, friendly and free event for them to join in with on a holiday Monday. Here’s what some of them said:

‘My daughter cried when I said it was too wet to go to Balerno (by bus) because she had enjoyed it so much last year. So I relented!’

‘It really was fantastic – just so many things for the children to do and without a cost.’

‘It was just so good to see the boys rushing from one activity to another and having fun.’

‘My girls look forward to it every year (rain or shine). We really appreciate all the time and effort all of the volunteers must put in.’
