Scoughall 23
“it was too hot!” (I’m not complaining)
“ I discovered that Jesus is real”
“better than cub camp”
“why can’t we come back in S1?”
“best ever!”
Just some of the comments after camp from some of the 36 young people who came to Scoughall.
It really was hot but with many many jugs of juice and ice lollies that was fine.
We thought about living a WILD life with Jesus and what that looks like.
We crawled through tunnels, built volcanoes, shot arrows, bounced til we were sweaty messes, designed bags, demonstrated our incredible talents, collected rare resources, sang our lungs out, opened the Bible, ate A LOT, slept (ish) in pods, made new friends and laughed til we cried at a sketch based on Frozen (you had to be there…)
And after all that the team went back to work for a rest.
Our P5-7 residential weekend really is a highlight of the year and I’m so grateful for the team – both those who have been for twenty or so years and those who were first-timers. We also had a team of five young leaders this year and they worked their socks off. Incredible leaders in the making and valuable role models for the younger ones.
So really this is a post to say Thank You. To the team for giving up their time. To the parents for entrusting their children to our care. To you for praying before and during the event. And to Jesus. For loving each and every person there unconditionally.
Shall we do it again next year? Absolutely! Bring it on!
