Mighty Mungos caps!

“Join the pack!” is the slogan that follows the Mighty Mungos logo. And indeed that’s what the Lyons family and friends have been encouraging us to do. While we cannot physically meet as church, our adults and young people have used zoom, facebook, you tube and other platforms to keep in touch, listen to teaching, pray and worship. For the youngest in our church family, Caroline Simpson has been recording videos every week. And for the pre primary and primary aged children (and many many others) there is MIGHTY MUNGOS.

It has been fabulous to see so many of our children send in videos for use in this every single week and this brings with it a sense of belonging. But just as fans wear football tops to identify their teams or t shirts displaying Ariana Grande or K-pop, those who are part of the MIGHTY MUNGOS pack, needed something to identify themselves and create that sense of belonging.

And so the talented Juliet Story got to work designing the logo...

The Lyons family adorned the caps on screen and children across the country (literally) wanted to join the pack.

So since returning from furlough, I’ve been delivering the caps. It has been a great opportunity to see children who I usually see every week but who I haven't seen for about six months. To catch up with them, chat about lockdown and life in general and to give them a MIGHTY MUNGOS CAP. I honestly cannot explain how happy they have been to receive them. Smiles and giggles and gratitude (attitude...). (and that’s just the team members who were given the orange caps)
