Safe Families for Children, Lothians

Safe Families Scotland write that they have been amazed and blessed with people keen to come forward to volunteer with Safe Families even in these times of lockdown and online church.  They thank God for his provision at this time so that they can offer support to a growing number of families across the Lothians.  They are currently supporting 116 families thanks to the amazing willing hearts of the volunteers from churches who have a heart for the struggling families in the communities around them.

But there is always more that can be achieved and there is still the opportunity for new volunteers to come on board and be trained by Safe Families, who can then contribute to the work that they as volunteers, alongside others in St Mungos, are doing with families.  Safe Families are so appreciative of all the continuing relationships they have with local churches reaching out into the heart of the community.

Do you have a heart for supporting families in crisis?   If you are interested in this volunteer opportunity then the next set of training sessions (all online still at this moment) will be on :

Thursday 24 September (7-9pm) and Thursday 1 October (7-8pm)

Please join the Safe Families team as they pray for all of the Lothians churches as the changing times gather pace and continue in a period of uncertainty. Pray for growing connections with our communities, for unexpected doors to open and for each of us to find new opportunity in what is to come in the next few months.
