St Mungo’s continues to support the food bank at Wester Hailes Church of Scotland – and financially supports Angie Thomson their community pastor.
Here is her recent update:
“To avoid all contact for our Foodbank clients I sent appointment cards to the 15 most vulnerable families on our books. They now come at 15-minute intervals on a Tuesday to collect their food parcels. This has been a great success and from those appointments, we reach about 80 people including 42 children.
As well as that we are delivering food parcels to 14 other families/individuals in isolation some of the most vulnerable referred to us by local agencies again reaching another 24 children and 20 adults.
We struggled initially to get enough food with online shopping only allowing 80 items but I have been able to buy in-store what is needed to supplement this and we've had some good donations of food too. Delivery slots too are rare but God always provides and we continue to have more than enough in our food store.
Again a big thank you to St Mungo's for funding us and enabling us to buy what we need. Please continue to pray for us. I think what we are doing right now is the tip of the iceberg.”
