Finance Update

Carol service on Sunday 19 December will be live streamed at 7pm on St Mungo’s YouTube channel.

On 19 December there are no physical services in either location. Mighty Mungo’s will be available to watch at 10.am.

Watchnight services on Christmas Eve at 10.30pm and 11.30pm in the church building, Ladycroft. Limited spaces available via the ChurchSuite booking email. This will be live streamed at 11.30pm and available to watch later.

Christmas Day in person service is not now happening. Might Mungo’s Christmas special is at 10am.

St Mungo’s Services. There will be no St Mungo’s services in person or on line on Sundays 26 December and 2 January. We look forward to being back in person at St Margaret’s, for Livingston at 10.30am on Sunday 9 January. Keep an eye out for details for the Balerno congregation.

Parentalk – the Teenage Years – advance warning for your 2022 diary! Balerno Farmers Market, Saturday 11 December, 9am-1pm. Teams from St Mungo’s will be hosting a stall (giving away carol service invitations and kids crafts) and distributing Bethany Caring Christmas trees during the market. Balerno Christmas Tree Trail, Saturday 11 December, 9am-4pm Harmeny School are hosting this year’s event and St Mungo’s will take part with a decorated tree. If you live locally, come along and enjoy the trail and use it as an opportunity to connect with others in the community.

SALAAM Christmas Appeal 2021: St Mungo’s are delighted to once again partner with Edinburgh City Mission’s Salaam Ministry, along with Churches city wide and Edinburgh City Council’s Refugee Team, to gift a food hamper to the many New Scot Refugee families resettled to our city [240 hampers this year]. This is a great opportunity to show our love and care to “love our neighbour”. This year St Mungo’s is gifting 15 Hampers and we would love to invite St Mungo’s family to help deliver some of these hampers to New Scot families. They have done a fantastic job at reconnecting with youth on Friday nights and Sunday mornings as in person events have resumed. Jonny has now taken on full responsibility for Balerno Youth and can be contacted on jonny.slatter@stmungos.org. Please note youth@stmungos.org has been deactivated.

Minis restarts this week! This group is for little ones and their carers – mums, dads, grannies etc and runs on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings in the church building. Bethany’s Pass the Baton is a befriending service that helps to support men and women who have experienced homelessness or are at risk of becoming homeless. The programme trains and equips volunteers from the local Church in the City to serve God in Edinburgh. Bethany will be running online Zoom trainings sessions in October for Christians who want to become Befrienders in Edinburgh. These will be held on Tues 12 Oct [7pm to 9.15pm] and Tues 19 Oct [7pm to 9.15pm]. 0-18 Sunday mornings – Pre-school, Primary and Youth groups will all run during the live services. You will be able to drop off and register your young person from 10.15. Mighty Mungos will continue online every Sunday morning at 10am.

Mighty Mungos! Join us at 10am on Sundays for 20 minutes designed for primary aged children and their families, some silliness, worship, and teaching - open to any age!

Friday Night Youth: Friday nights resume on 20 August, 7.30pm to 8.30pm meeting at the Wellness Centre Garden, 4 Bridge Road, Balerno for S1-S6. Pre-booking via ChurchSuite no longer required. The first 4 weeks will be outdoor. In the event of bad weather on the day, the team will make a call at 4pm to revert indoors, an email will be sent re change of plans. More details will be posted on the Youth Instagram and Community Facebook page during the week.
