Balerno Farmers Market, Saturday 11 December, 9am-1pm. Teams from St Mungo’s will be hosting a stall (giving away carol service invitations and kids crafts) and distributing Bethany Caring Christmas trees during the market. Balerno Christmas Tree Trail, Saturday 11 December, 9am-4pm Harmeny School are hosting this year’s event and St Mungo’s will take part with a decorated tree. If you live locally, come along and enjoy the trail and use it as an opportunity to connect with others in the community.

SALAAM Christmas Appeal 2021: St Mungo’s are delighted to once again partner with Edinburgh City Mission’s Salaam Ministry, along with Churches city wide and Edinburgh City Council’s Refugee Team, to gift a food hamper to the many New Scot Refugee families resettled to our city [240 hampers this year]. This is a great opportunity to show our love and care to “love our neighbour”. This year St Mungo’s is gifting 15 Hampers and we would love to invite St Mungo’s family to help deliver some of these hampers to New Scot families. Minis restarts this week! This group is for little ones and their carers – mums, dads, grannies etc and runs on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings in the church building. Bethany’s Pass the Baton is a befriending service that helps to support men and women who have experienced homelessness or are at risk of becoming homeless. The programme trains and equips volunteers from the local Church in the City to serve God in Edinburgh. Bethany will be running online Zoom trainings sessions in October for Christians who want to become Befrienders in Edinburgh. These will be held on Tues 12 Oct [7pm to 9.15pm] and Tues 19 Oct [7pm to 9.15pm]. Please do pray for all the mission organisations working on the ground and supporting locals who are experiencing extreme trauma and fear. Pray for world leaders to intervene in the right way and for countries to open their borders to help those in most need.

The first 4 weeks will be outdoor. In the event of bad weather on the day, the team will make a call at 4pm to revert indoors, an email will be sent re change of plans. More details will be posted on the Youth Instagram and Community Facebook page during the week.
